For students traveling from outside New York City, Dharma House is easy to reach by public transportation, on the 7 train; it's just 2 blocks from the 61st st/Woodside stop. There is limited street parking, however; be prepared to drive around looking for a spot for 10 to 20 minutes.
For students looking for a nearby place to stay, we recommend the clean, comfortable Queens Hotel, where Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche and his monks stayed during the June empowerments in Queens. Rates are around $120/night. They are sold out Saturday night; however, if you book there Friday night, it may be worth a phone call to ask about a second night. Generally, booking.com has the best prices and information about area hotels; hoteltonight.com also has good deals on hotels in Long Island City, just a few stops away on the subway.
