Our teacher Ven. Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche recently directed Tulku Sherdor to teach this principal text of mind training, saying it is important for our east coast sangha to study it together.
The rgyal sras lag len so bdun ma, or Bodhisattva's Training in 37 Points, is a classic text by the Kadampa master Ngul Chu Tog Med Zang Po, and is studied in all the traditions as a key to mind training and bodhicitta. It is an upadesa, a training manual, and not an academic treatise.
Tulku Sherdor has received these instructions from masters of several different lineages, including Kyabje Kalu Rinpoche, Garchen Rinpoche, HH the Dalai Lama, HH Orgyen Kusum Lingpa, and many others.
Date: Saturday Dec. 10 and Sunday Dec. 11
Time: We will start at 10 am on Saturday, to allow people to travel same day if possible, and end by 4 pm on Sunday, for the same reason.
Registration: Please register by December 1 by emailing Ani Sangye Chodron. at gmail dot com. Ani-la will forward a welcome letter with further information to all registrants, and can address any questions.
Cost: There is no fee to attend in person, other than the cost of meals (see below), in keeping with the tradition of bodhicitta. Offerings to support the continued existence and operation of the dharma center will be accepted with gratitude.
Food: A vegetarian lunch will be offered both days. Ani Sangye will provide information about that cost.
Online? For those for whom attendance in person is practically impossible, an option to participate online may be offered for a nominal fee of $60. Please inquire with Ani Sangye and we will keep you posted.
We need a few volunteers to help with organization and management of the program. In particular, one person to arrive a day early and one to stay a day after, to help with preparations and with closing/clean up. Several of our usual volunteers are not available this time. Let Ani-la know right away if you are available and willing to help, to enable a smooth, successful program.
Longchen Nyingtig Ngon Dro practice, part of the daily schedule at Blazing Wisdom, will take place at 7 am. Please bring your breakfast if you plan to attend those sessions.
